Safeguarding Notice

[LAWYER REVIEW REQUIRED] — Scaffold for a lawyer (and ideally a safeguarding-aware reviewer) to complete (Brief 31 Phase B). Not legal advice; not a substitute for a safeguarding policy.

What Covey is — and isn't

Stub: Covey is a directory that helps parents find children's clubs and activities. Covey does not run the clubs, supervise sessions, or employ the people who do. Set expectations clearly.

How listings are checked

Stub — cover honestly what verification does and doesn't mean: - Many listings are auto-discovered from public sources and are unclaimed/unverified until an operator claims them. - What "Verified" means (operator claimed + any checks performed, e.g. DBS upload review — link the Privacy Policy on DBS data). - That verification is not a guarantee of safety; parents should do their own checks.

Reporting a concern

Stub: how a parent or anyone can report a safeguarding concern about a listing or operator (contact route + what happens next). Include that urgent concerns about a child's immediate safety should go to the police (999) or the NSPCC, not just to Covey.

Operator responsibilities

Stub: cross-reference the Acceptable Use Policy and that operators are responsible for their own DBS/safeguarding compliance.

Contact

Stub: privacy@mycovey.com (and any dedicated safeguarding contact the lawyer/Tom decides on).
